Loitering in Northeast of India: May 2012

The Northeast of India offers a wide variety of unexplored scenic beauties along with huge abundance of natural resources, cultures, cuisines, historical monuments, forest reserve, national parks, languages and many more. Tourism in Northeast is at its best now as people from the northeast could be further encouraged to realize the output potential from tourism and preserve this gift we posses.

Tourism has a wider perspective attached to it and is an integral part of our daily livelihood. One would travel to learn and improvise. For the other, it might be leisure or of diversified interests. Travel in northeast of India is an elongated affair. The best thing about the Northeast travel is that, one can start travelling from anywhere in the Northeast of India; the essence of nature, culture, places, historical monuments, natural resources, mythology, people, and history is hypnotic. In this blog I would try to rejuvenate the Northeast travelling and research. There are innumerable, non-commercialised places of tourist destinations in the entire northeast for travel destinations and moreover it is one of the most developing regions in India.

The 7 states in Northeast of India provide us with a unique combination of serene scenic beauties throughout a visit and further. Let me begin with the gateway to the Northeast “Assam”.

What could be achieved?

There are end number of things which could be portrayed and worked upon to transform this strategically located district of Assam. As per claims, Tinsukia district is the business capital for the State of Assam. Rich in culture, natural resources, tourism, history, ethnicity and the list could go on an on. However, realization of the immense potential has to be catered by none other than the intellectuals and the upcoming youth to take the legacy forward. I have concentrated on intellectual growth and understanding of the importance of information which many lack to acquire or share. Material growth should be avoided in many instances to realize the importance of the growth of a State, community and intellect. This is what i think could be done. I welcome and encourage everyone to understand the importance of going beyond material well being. Material growth should be considered as a prerequisite for sustaining a lifestyle.
